Bon Séjour Home Débuts in Chelan Gifts and Décor With A French Touch to Open with a ribbon cutting Thursday, July 1st at 11 a.m.
CHELAN, WA - Capturing the warmth and comfort of Southern living and the sleek sophistication of a Parisian loft, the new Bon Séjour Home lifestyle shop at 210 E. Woodin Ave. is a delightful combination of stylish home furnishings and personal gifts.
Showcasing window, wall and floor coverings plus accent furniture, home accessories and gifts, Bon Séjour Home is Lake Chelan’s exclusive location for several lines of specialty merchandise. Chic personal and home selections are displayed in the rich chocolate interior of the shop including Sue Huston jewelry, Italian leather handbags, Seda France candles and diffusers, India’s Heritage draperies and Loloi area rugs.
Shop owners and professional designers, Brandee and Darren Borror found their inspiration more than a decade ago on their honeymoon to New Orleans. Touring the historic antebellum mansions of the Louisiana low country, they visited Oak Alley, one of the world’s most famous homes. There among three-century-old live oaks, the Borrors first learned the meaning of the old-world French phrase bon séjour – which means pleasant stay.
The words stuck with them and they recently translated this lifestyle concept to their new business, Bon Séjour Home.
“We are offering customers a pleasant stay, whether it is in our shop or in the pleasant surroundings we can help them achieve in their home. With creative interior design, elegant specialty items or one-of-a-kind accessories, you can be certain that it will be done with style and sophistication,” Darren Borror explained.
The couple has devoted their careers to design. Brandee, a Chelan native, is a successful graphic designer and operates her own graphic/web design and marketing firm. Darren is passionate about interior design, creating several notable projects in the Lake Chelan Valley including the new Grandview on the Lake lobby project. In his other career, Darren operates a catering and event-planning service. Their jobs previously took them to the Puget Sound region where they worked for a number of years before returning to the valley to raise a family.
“Our Bon Séjour Home merchandise is something not seen before in the valley. We are especially excited about our selection of Seda France items. Each unique fragrance is meticulously created in Paris. Then, these fine quality candles and diffusers are manufactured in America to the highest standards,” says Darren. “Another great product line is our Loloi area rug group. The collection includes beautiful outdoor rugs with the same luxurious look and feel of indoor rugs, however, they are cleanable with a garden hose. This feature makes them particularly attractive in our outdoor lifestyle in Eastern Washington.”
Bon Séjour Home also offers complete interior design services. These services include interior and construction management, lighting design, color selection, as well as window, wall- and floor-covering coordination.
“We differ from other interior design firms because we don’t charge standard design-time rates. For items purchased through the shop, no design fees are charged. If something is selected through an outside source, only a low service fee is added. Bon Séjour Home is a lot more affordable than people might think,” Darren continued.
“Our design services are especially attractive for the Chelan-area homeowner who is building or renovating. We also specialize in staging homes for sale -- which is difficult for second homeowners who may live outside the area. Bon Séjour Home is a tasteful resource for real estate brokers who need help ‘moving’ a property listing.
“We wish our all of our customers ‘Un très bon séjour’, which translates in English as ‘A very good stay.’”
Located at 210 E. Woodin Ave., Bon Séjour Home will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The shop can be contacted by phone: 509-682-9151, and e-mail is
